Fort Ticonderoga - 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Carillon

Civilians

During the entire Battle of Carillon commemoration (June 27 – July 8, 2008) Fort Ticonderoga will offer living history groups the opportunity to encamp at the Fort and interpret civilian life during the French and Indian War.

Scheduled programs or programs that need to take place in the Fort or in the Mars Education Center must be coordinated well in advance with the Director of Interpretation and Education to avoid conflicts with regularly scheduled Fort programs.

As much as possible, visitor participation should be a component of each program. We encourage the members of your group to explore ideas on how this can be done in a fun way, but with safety in mind.

All Fort events are by invitation only. If your civilian group has not received an email invitation from the Fort by the end of November 2007, contact the Public Programs Coordinator. This means that you are not on our invitation list or we do not have a current email address for your group.

Two weeks of events will be highlighted by:

  • Grand Parade of Arms in Ticonderoga Village
  • Battle Reenactments at Fort Ticonderoga
  • Best 4th in the North July 4th Celebration
  • The Grand Opening of the Deborah Clarke Mars Education Center
  • A Wreath Laying Ceremony for the Battle of Carillon
