March 2009 Update
Plans are well underway for both of our 2009 encampments. We have been busy putting together our invitation lists and contacting units & sutlers. We are well aware that our invitation lists are not comprehensive, but we have made every effort to complete them. However, if you have not yet received an invitation (and you have in the past) please contact the following coordinators:
We do apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but we appreciate your patience as we work through this transition.
We are making a few changes this year. These changes include a re-edit of Fort Ticonderoga’s “Reenactment Guidelines” manual and creating a more engaging public schedule.
The guidelines, which include information for both reenactors and sutlers, are much the same as they have been in the past, with minor content changes and a new format.
Please note that all participants are expected to be familiar with these guidelines. Failure to comply with the guidelines may result in immediate ejection from the site and/or removal from the Fort’s event invitation list.

We are also seeking individuals or units who would create and present camp or military life related interpretive programs. The following are suggestions. We certainly welcome other ideas.
- Camp tour
- Refugee camp
- Camp laundry
- Drill, firing, or artillery demos
- Court martial
- Music
- Native interpretation Songs, games, or pasttimes
- Divine service
We ask that individuals or units who intend to present any interpretive program coordinate with the Fort. That way we won’t have, for example, two courts martial happening simultaneously. We also ask that all interpretive programs are well-researched and presented as accurately and authentically as possible.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Mark Turdo at mturdo@fort-ticonderoga.org or 518-585-2821.
